I thought it was pretty clear from the outset he was a centrist, or at least "centrist-adjacent", lol! I think what most people are wondering is, who can beat Trump. Where people are on the spectrum is probably secondary to that. Personally, I'm not sure who I like yet.

Buttigieg actually seems intent on obscuring the fact that he’s a centrist—when asked about what his actual policy beliefs are, he always evades the question or the “labels.” When it comes to Mayor Pete, nothing is pretty clear...
-
I don't think it's that hard to read between the lines but he did say in one interview the policy page on his website will be expanded within two weeks, so about a week from now. That should shed a little light.

It’s not hard to read between the lines—that’s what my tweet is doing lol
-
Didn’t Hillary also obscure her centrist-ness until after the nomination?
-
She definitely started running right after the nom, but I’d say Hillary is a bit different because she had a history in the public eye long before 2016. Buttigieg, on the other hand, is new and calls himself a progressive, so it may not be as clear to some that he’s a centrist.

That’s disingenuous. Ya gotta fight fair. Cutting off videos to take em out of context is bush league.https://twitter.com/cbssunday/status/1119646233805631488?s=21 …

The full clip doesn’t change the fact that it exposes them as centrists. Pete’s addition of “...and the right” only emphasizes the point that he’s a centrist, including his contempt for the left-wing of the Dem party.
-
If thinking “doing a great job” until you’re interrupted by people on the left (or the right) is “politics” doesn’t make you a centrist, I don’t know what does. And even if it’s in jest, it’s still telling.

Agree 100% and good catch.

1) the dog literally came from his left. 2) this cuts out Pete's immediate quip about the right immediately after this.
-
1) none of that changes the point that it gives away a centrist conception of politics

Yea, we better keep being fucked from someone coming from the right, am I correct Mayor ?
-
To be fair, in the full clip Pete added “...and the right” after his husband said that, yet the point that they’re centrists stands.
-
All right, I didn't hear it. But they do always start with the left. ..
