Apple is not “considering”,they are being compelled by law to support third party browser engines under the 🇪🇺EU’s Digital Markets Act. Apple should end its blatant anti-competitive behavior worldwide, not just in the EU. If not will fight in each jurisdiction.

Brutal , but her criticism of 's Bill of Rights is fully justified, for simple fact that Bill is just that: Raab's (and Daily Mail's) Bill. Leading members of judiciary categorically reject it, and so do academics. No case to answer for charges vs HRA.

Investing in #FossilFuels is becoming less & less attractive, from a financial point of view AND a moral/ethical standpoint. Good that is the first global bank to end new investments - decades late, but welcome. Time for others to follow suit. And fast! #ClimateEmergency

🚨BREAKING 🚨 @HSBC just announced that they’re going to stop lending money to any new oil and gas projects. This is huge. And it’s only happening due to pressure from thousands of people across the climate movement and beyond. Here’s why it’s important🧵1/8

Incredible what presenting yourself as a bit racist with no interest in rejoining the EU can do for the fortunes of a party in England.

Clearing pavements & cycle paths of snow, ice, & leaves and gritting is essential. People (myself included) experience life-changing injuries & implications *avoidably* from slippery pavements & cycle paths. Why investing in safe walking & cycling isn’t a top priority baffles me.
Quote Tweet
My ⁦@thecourieruk⁩ column on my main source of rage at this time of year - ungritted pavements! and how unfair it is that non-drivers need to risk serious injury to walk anywhere! It’s the year of our lord 2022 we shouldn’t have ice rink pavements! thecourier.co.uk/fp/opinion/397

If not free, folk who can't afford it won't pay to vote. If not mandatory, then your freedom to abstain from carrying ID conflicts with your right to vote. If not universal, holders or non-holders may be stigmatised. But why do I demand automatic issue? 1/2

Britain has no history of voter fraud and little evidence of any serious unidentified issue. But the Tories do want to make it as hard for young people and those on low incomes to vote so let’s call this fascism in action, because that’s what it is

NHS pays massive sums to fill gaps in staffing but won’t meet nurses demands for more bit.ly/3FKIHhJ One reason these locum doctors are needed is the way the NHS pension is worked out leaving NHS doctors with huge tax bills for working extra hours

It's good to see Full Support Healthcare - which won £2.5bn of contracts - getting some attention. But there are many more questions to be answered about its accounts which don't seem to show any of the profits we know the owners are spending.

There are so few places in which we can wild camp legally in this country. Now this landowner and hedge fund manager wants to shut one of the last of them down. These grasping plutocrats will take everything if we let them.

"We are closing Londongrad." Excellent, not a moment too soon (as long as we distinguish between corrupt kleptocrats + Russians trying to escape Putin's tyranny), but a key challenge will be going after *all* dirty money. A big task, but I am feeling more optimistic than for ages

This is totally untrue. The government scuppered a deal by inserting last-minute clauses into the offer from the RDG and then insisted that there should be no further negotiation.
