Story time! When I was a much younger man and far more hot headed I happened to be at an after party for a @TEDTalks event. I saw @BjornLomborg and marched over to him and told him he was wrong about everything. The response was a gasp from those there and he said, “let’s talk”.

He was very gracious and spoke to me for about 30 minutes, answering my questions and refuting some of my more pointed critiques. In the end I felt foolish for being so harsh and enlightened about someone I felt had represented an ideological challenge.
The point being that, yes, I’m sure you would get along much better with someone over lunch than you would over Twitter, but that requires a willingness to listen to what someone is saying to you rather than exercising your ability to be outraged.
