Excited to post about this beautiful book, Shadow City, a moving and personal account of Kabul. A poetic city buried under layers of transformation, unearthed through a series of long (and disapproved!) walks through it. Written by my brilliant sister!!!

Happy to announce our pre-print is on : We report that early experience enhanced prey capture success in larval and that we identified malleable aspects of their hunting sequence that predicted capture success.

Thrilled to share a new paper from my group on contrast sensitivity in mouse V1. Dan Millman led this study, showing that VIP neurons selectively enhance weak but behaviorally-relevant stimuli in superficial cortex.

Our first paper on sub-cellular cortical function in realistic-ish navigation behavior: We simultaneously imaged dendrites and their somas in retrosplenial cortex while mice walked around and rotated freely despite 'head fixation' during 2-photon imaging.

Striatum (DLS but not DMS) plays a key role in generating fine movement kinematics independent of motor cortex. Beautiful work from Ashesh Dhawale, et al extends role of striatum beyond vigour/start-stop signals, nice jukebox vs DJ metaphor!
