But that’s just one way into it. People can and will still get into it with the same vibe I/we did. Others will get into it with Warhammer Adventures, for ages 8+. It’s just a new avenue into the thing we all love – one that ultimately doesn’t affect those of us already into it.

That's another good point. I'm still writing narrative nods and homages to The Mysterious Cities of Gold, 30 years later. My webcomic is literally a love letter to TMCoG as much as to the Dark Tower, and has been since Day 1. What we get into as kids echoes on through life.

It's a question of expectations for me, obviously the subject matter will be a lot more tame than a standard Black Library book, but will it prepare the new hobbyists for the dark and ultra-violent world they're stepping into? Also, that it makes the Imperium look like heroes.

The only real concern this has for me, up-front and laid bare, is how much it's gonna cost me to get two lots of Warhammer stuff instead of one if my daughter likes it as much as I have and do.

I don't hobby anymore but still read the fiction. When I was young I found the models so cool but didn't understand all the lore, I started reading the books later. Stopped hobbying but it's kept me in touch with the universe. Nothing wrong with opening avenues into the world.

There's 2 things that will be hard for some to reconcile 1) If it's not written for me then it's not my grimdark and 2) If it's not my grimdark then it's not real grimdark -

The notion that everybody loves Warhammer only because of grimdark may not be entirely accurate either, some people love Warhammer despite the grimdark :)
