Great to see confirmation of my experiments by @marjakh who is actually working on JS parsing: Phones can parse roughly 1KB / ms #jsconfeu

Heh, heh. At some point somebody multiplied it by 1000 for your slide :) I've observed it since roughly 2010 where the number was on desktop

Malte's law "Somebody will make a new device that can still only parse 1 megabyte of JS per second." :)

:) JS parse times on high-end phones + laptops vs. low-end/average are _so_ different. Hope we see more real-device testing as folks realizepic.twitter.com/uxMJQQ1FM1

1MB of uncompressed JS over WebPageTest + real devices. Parse time calculated using the method mentioned lower down in my JS startup perf 📝

We don't use custom JS engine or parser, so should match Chrome on Android, UIWebView on iOS.
