Not the point. The point is that the discrimination they faced was based on the perception of their sex by the employers. What it was, is irrelevant.
Alito says that "sex" must be defined exactly the way that lawmakers understood that term in 1964. I'm skeptical he'll apply that same rule to defining what counts as "arms" when reading the Second Amendment.

The people already had the discussion through their representatives. The Court has now determined that the conclusion they reached was inconsistent with the foundational principles of the nation. This should have all been covered in your 8th grade civics class.
