Missouri removed an exhibit on gay history from the state Capitol after just two days. A spokesperson says the Republican governor received “several complaints” about the exhibit, which was supposed to be on display until the end of the year.

Hey, CA tweeps. The recall election is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14. Mark your calendars and make a plan to vote in person or by absentee ballot in this special election. And tell others--a lot folks don't have this election on their radars.

I agree with here — for the reasons he gives and a half dozen others. The new moratorium is already back in court in DC. If it ends up in SCOTUS, don’t assume it’ll strike down Biden’s new eviction ban. There’s good reason to think it won’t.

“By deciding the fate of the eviction moratorium off the shadow docket and without any stated reasons, the justices failed to do their job. That shouldn’t stop the C.D.C. and the Biden administration from doing theirs.” Brilliant 👏

Having said that, I agree with that the Supreme Court should have provided clear guidance when it had the chance to rule on the in July. The Court should have anticipated that his issue would come back.

UCLA Law Prof says the eviction moratorium case is an example of the problems with SCOTUS' increasing use of the "shadow docket," where cases raising important issues are decided without full briefing, oral argument, and reasoned opinions.

NYC sent non-police teams to respond to mental health calls for a month. Data shows that more people got help and fewer were hospitalized. Here’s what happened.
