We grew up eating vegemite on toast, home made jam, weetbix and lots of veges. Oh, and roast dinners. They were a thing. (70s kid, Western Australia)

Spot on. Sausages/chops and 3 veg most nights. Fish and chips on some Friday nights. Ahh the 70's and early 80's.

I think our equivalent was tinned spaghetti on toast or something like that.

Two slices of Tip Top or Sunblest, tin of spaghetti, chuck that in the Breville. Bloody marvellous.

Yeah- Except I did. Home made bechamel, overcooked macaroni, sprinkle of nutmeg and black pepper. Bubbling golden in the corningware. Sometimes with bacon. Saturday Night dinner=dads turn to cook! It wasn’t that disastrous cosmic yellow packet stuff made from cheese in a jar!
-
Yep, me too. But I'm not saying how long ago. And Rice a Riso for an exotic treat. Sorry Mum, it was that time in Australian history.
