This is the intellectual (I use that word loosely) version of rich people claiming they're being oppressed.
These endless, insufferable takes certainly aren’t enticing me to resubscribe anytime soon. I’m not really sure what is gained by endlessly showing that the right is wholly intellectually bankrupt, other than to incessantly legitimize their false sense of victimhood.

Okay uhhh the point is the commenter didnt say that, he said "this article is nearly a decade old."
The joke in "almost a decade old already" is that it's such a tired schtick that it's old no matter how recently it was published. Easily misconstrued, though, especially on twitter.
I get it now, it was just not expressed clearly. Lots of articles are mistakenly posted as new, so stating that the article itself (not the ideas discussed) was old would lead a reader to check the publishing date.
