  1. It’s not a mystery, I’ll save you a read: Vance is a craven hack who saw which way the wind was blowing & shifted his persona based on this, pandering to the basest parts of his party & the human brain, namely antisemitism. He also sincerely hates women & black people w/ opinions

  3. Anyway I find it fascinating there is an absolute 1-to-1 direct correlation between scary stories about evil Chinese authoritarian covid measures in NYT, WSJ and CNN and dead Americans. Whatever happens we must sooth our national ego while waiting for a $40 testing kit for 3 hrs

  4. Either way whatever we’re doing is clearly not working at all. A false dichotomy has been set up to either have Zero Covid or just let er rip and it seems like SLOWING the spread with certain measures could be a prudent third way

  5. There are difficult trade offs but the glib “it’s just the flu” crowd seems increasingly disinterested with new information at all. Clearly a policy choice was made and we’re just gonna ride it all the way to the end

  6. Everyone wants in-person learning (obviously! Clearly!!) but—and hear me out here—you don’t have to be a lockdown-fetishizing doomer liberal paranoid bubble wrapped Howard Hughes shut-in to see that maybe the CTU may be on to something here

It's wild how the elite conversation about all this is so abstracted and weirdly overheated relative to the actual, modest, totally reasonable demands from the students and teachers unions with the biggest actual stake in all this.

  10. For weeks I’ve asked liberal Adams supporters who claimed he was a Real Pragmatic Police Reformer to show me any plans, policies or evidence at all of substantive reform and I finally found my proof: a “hey guys, would you mind not abusing people”.

  12. All those other industries (and non union healthcare workers) are full of low wage workers on Reddit telling stories about neglect and abuse but they have no means of expression beyond up votes because they have no union.

  13. One major difference is that none of these other industries you mention are unionized with the exception of flight attendants and they too are making veiled threats of strike. Notice a pattern? Labor discipline is the common denominator here. CTU demands are modest and reasonable

  14. Hey the key is it can never be the people actually in charge who hold positions of power. It has to be a new obscure fringe element that somehow sullies a “brand” not those in office tasked with materially improving people’s lives

  15. New “far left” bogeyman emerging to distract from the fact Biden has no apparent plan to address our current covid surge, total lack of testing, & mass exiting of teachers and nurses beyond tweeting “get vaccinated” and “there are some test out there, but ya gotta Google it man”

  16. Yep it’s January of an even year so it’s time to start setting up scapegoats for midterm blow outs. Like ‘defund’ 2020 or Bernie bros 2018, rich liberals hate teachers unions anyway so they’re a perfect choice 😚👌

So many people think it’s the epic own to say “the only people dying have comorbidities” as if they aren’t humans worthy of consideration, as if they’re deaths are just factored in. The assumption being the viewer need not worry because they’re not one of THOSE people

If the plan is simply bull on ahead because we Have No Choice then at least have a plan for those still acutely vulnerable to the virus. Acknowledge they exists at least. How does the federal government help them? Or is the WH too scared of a capital strike (d/b/a “inflation”)

If the CDC and Biden White House are gonna insist everyone go back to work because (waves hand eugenically) the only people dying are the surplus disabled population then again I ask: what’s the plan to pay those with disabilities to remain indoors? Provide them food? UI?

gotta juice the substack so I’m pivoting to soft anti vax outrage bait, you know Road to Damascus lefty-turned “-conspiratorial libertarian who feeds off people’s baser instincts. Anyone know of any anecdotal, minor covid transgression from powerless liberals I can write about
