This area ended up being larger than I could handle (almost doubling the map size!) so it's a little incomplete this year, but there's still a secret or two to find!

I also wanted to add a new area to the game, since returning players will probably notice this the most! I wanted to make an urban area since the Harbord Street Pumpkin Fest in Toronto is what inspired the game in the first place.

I also made it so you can see the other ghosts holding a camera when they're in camera mode, and their camera actually flashes! I think this turned out to be a great touch.

I liked how this game is closely tied to pumpkin viewing and creation, but in practice, I think it's a little too formal and takes a lot of steps to set up. I don't think it's being used that much!

I wanted to add more things for players to actually do together, so I also introduced a "guessing game." Basically, you invite another player to guess your pumpkin, and you can give them 5 hints using the chat system.

This year, I added a basic chat system that lets you select or build sentences (Dark-Souls style) to emote to other ghosts. I think the limited vocabulary kinda creates this fun interpretation aspect to every exchange (and also I can't trust people with free chat!)

I've always loved the "just chillin' with strangers" aspect of the festival - the presence of other players adds something to the experience. In previous years, it felt like you could almost make a friend through limited body gestures.
