I want criminal justice reform and even prison abolition, as much as anyone, but people need the psychological safety of not feeling like they're constantly going to have their stuff violated and be left without recourse.

Don't worry it's not true. SFPD makes arrests in just 1-2% of car break-ins. Chesa said his office prosecutes more than 80% of car break-in arrests -- a higher rate than most crimes. Those officers were lying. I encourage that person to file a complaint with their police station
