Hmmm Probably just because they need high number of people doing the same thing. Accounting, law, etc. are other examples. It's not: "I'm going to work for xyz company" It's: "I'm going to work in xyz industry"

this hits the nail on the head. applicants get a very structured, well-worn method to succeed in the interview (and job for that matter). and firms get plenty of applicants which they can (relatively) easily sort through based on their structured process
