Jean-Claude Juncker says there would be a border between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the event of a no-deal Brexit and says he believes "some members of the British Parliament" are "forgetting about history" in Ireland #Ridgepic.twitter.com/SYwYCbwJrB
I was trying to make the point that both sides clearly stated there wouldn't be one, I never said we are not now also preparing for one... The EU will not renegotiate withdrawal agreement though, or so they say

I accept it is we who voted to leave, but I don't accept that finding a solution to Backstop is only a UK problem..They have put something in agreement which was agreed by our then PM but has been rejected by Parliament and everybody else and their dog

The fact that the UK government is reneging on its previous commitments, is precisely why we need the backstop, and precisely why its not up for negotiation. No backstop and no deal is exactly the same thing for Ireland. Partitioning Ireland is the UKs choice. We won't acquiesce.
