It's naive to suggest that a dramatic show of force like killing a bunch of people isn't required at times. In certain cases it saves lives long term by demonstrating the state's willingness to be ruthless
However what's immoral about what Israel is doing is combining such shows of force with a mindless expansionism into land which it has no intention or capability of ever integrating or stably governing

I guess one can argue that the status quo is sustainable long term as a sort of permanent colonial status but I don't see how it is given the right keeps expanding settlements
-
It doesn't seem possible to stably govern a hostile population when your right flank keeps treating it as a settler colony.

I guess the less deranged elements on the right see the settlements as leverage for an eventual population/land transfer

Israel's responsibility to the Gazans is to find them a new land to expel them to. Keeping them corralled is awful.
-
Lol ethnic cleansing is pretty awful too.
-
Yup. But it's implied by the Israeli project of establishing a homeland.
-
And it's really nowhere near as awful as what is happening to Gazans today.
