Although you can be a hereditarian leftist, there's definitely a logical connection. There's a reason why people turn rightwards after they learn about this stuff.
Seems fairly obvious that disagreement over the existence of a hierarchy of ability is the single point of departure between conservatism and various strains of leftism.

Or - rather - conservatism is almost defined by the fact that it is comfortable with the existence of hierarchies without the urge to eradicate them via social/genetic engineering

Yeah, the "without the urge" part is crucial. If you still have the urge, you can be a hereditarian leftist without ignoring the science.
