It's funny that we're at the point of Republic decline at which the only useful purpose for the Senate is rubber-stamping judicial appointments and to block a House impeachment vote

As for the House I can't think of much use for it any way. Certainly, any landmark Trumpian immigration bill was just as unlikely to pass with a Republican majority as it is now

We are well on our way to the collapse of the Republic with unelected judges pretty much making all the important decisions. Now it's just a matter of changing the way they are appointed and then collapsing the entire authority of the supreme Court into one person.

Seems like the longer a republic takes to collapse the more thoroughly it drains all virtue from the ruling elite.
