I think there's a legit argument for the very bottom of the distribution (<30p) against the likes of Norway, but overall probably not and I'm largely talking about the broad middle of the distribution. I'd take LIS and related survey data w/ a few large grains of salt too....

Surely the bottom 30% receive more benefits in NWE. And is there data on something like actual individual consumption at a given percentile?

I agree NWE redistributes more, but real earned incomes are typically lower and they tax a lot more (much of is systematically disregarded in LIS and related estimates).

And yes, there are some consumption estimates along these lines and they largely support my position here.
