I wonder if Anglo model of racial segmentation lent itself better to formal egalitarianism than Latin-style racial hierarchical continuums (which seem more similar to old-style soft-racism "colorism" among AfAms),but this inherently makes integration more destabilizing/fracturing

it does seem like there's something fundamentally about anglo societies that make them resistant to Bolsonoro/Salvini style populism. IMO it's more about Anglos being ashamed of certain personality traits
