I just don’t see a major collapse occurring. Despite the influx of immigrant laborers and increasing proletariat connotation, my hometown (25,000) has an incredibly solid blue collar work force that does well for themselves and cannot be rooted out by technology, largely enough.

Yeah I'm somewhat skeptical myself. But I think we've entered a long period where the anticipation of the collapse drives political trends

I think you hit the nail on the head about anticipation. AI has done one thing well, and that’s to promise it’s going to shake up the world. The timeframe is much further out than people expect, but the anticipation has gone to the core of what we expect about our future.
