The recent escalation seems a Trump administration decision. And it's much more than just Dems who have turned it into a moral issue.
I don't see how it can be called restrictionist by any stretch of the term, though. It was just an amnesty. We know that the GOP Senate is not representative of the GOP base when it comes to views on immigration

It includes restrictionist measures. If you mean what restrictionist reforms Dems would accept for absolutely nothing in return, then perhaps nothing. But that's a different question

But back to your first question, of whether Dems will "entertain" restrictionist measures (I assumed you meant in exchange for things Dems and many Rs want, like amnesty and path to citizenship for Dreamers), it seems like answer is yes
