I actually genuinely wonder why upper middle class are engaged in this educational arms race. Do they really think education improves outcomes or is it just something they do because humans are inclined to compete with their peers?

I tried to get high scores because that's how you get to a good uni etc The fact that I have a relatively "easy" path to go study STEM at some wowzy uni could probably land me a well paying job more easily I wonder if iq life-predictability is more stable with ed than without

What I meant is are the marginal income benefits of going to Harvard and studying math vs say Georgia tech really worth the extra expenditure or is it just a vanity thing
