Cats visual sampling rate are much higher than humans. Humans need 20fps for something to look animated. Cats still see every, single individual picture until it hits 100fps! So even at that higher res they can see the illusion. That's really interesting

Not to be Debbie Downer - but isn't this why cats are used in opth/vision experimentation?
Yah my neuroscientist partner pointed this out too. “I should hope so, given that most of the foundational research in that field was done in cats.”
It's interesting the cat goes for the middle of the image. It hits my peripheral vision, which would imply the cat pouncing in a new location each time
Cat field of focus is slightly different though.
Meanwhile, dogs are sniffing for drugs, weapons & explosives for humans, running down bad guys, rescuing people trapped in collapsed buildings & snow, herding sheep, leading blind people, therapy work, fighting in wars, & water rescue.
