All DOC facilities house medically vulnerable people. And Osborn houses some very, very vulnerable people: it has one of the DOC hospice units. People who are incarcerated in Connecticut prisons and jails are in danger from COVID-19, and they need relief now.
Nearly one third of people incarcerated at Osborn are age 50 or above: 318 people incarcerated there are 50 or over. 50 of those 318 people have sentences ending in 2020.
And now they aren't allowing them to shower.
Spoke with my loved one this morning, he was allowed outside for an ice cold shower in the yard. I believe they will be allowed to do this every 3 days from what I can tell - they aren't being given much information and this is beyond unacceptable. Now they will have pneumonia!
