The lawsuit asks the Court to order Governor Lamont & DOC Commissioner Cook to safely release medically vulnerable incarcerated people and to create a plan to protect any people who remain incarcerated, including a plan for release if socially distancing remains impossible.

Today’s action follows a similar lawsuit we filed in state court on April 3. Oral arguments in that separate, state court lawsuit were heard on April 15, and that lawsuit is ongoing.
