If the government had its way, incarcerated people would also only be allowed to sue if they became sick from COVID-19. Part of protecting public health in a pandemic is preventing people from getting sick in the first place, not waiting until they get sick to right the wrong.pic.twitter.com/vKjGSMffel

The filings by the AG’s office demonstrate a callous lack of concern for the health and safety of persons in DOC custody. A “maximum security” prison purpose built to place people in solitary confinement is not the solution to the COVID-19 pandemic.

More people should read the court filings by the AG’s office in cases where the authority of the state to continue to hold people is being challenged.
