October 1 is coming up. On that day, an important part of Connecticut's groundbreaking prosecutorial transparency law will go into effect. This section of the law will be very important as Connecticut looks for a new Chief State's Attorney.
Also as of Oct. 1, the Criminal Justice Commission must start holding its meetings to appoint, reappoint, remove, or discipline prosecutors in the Legislative Office Building (instead of in the Division of Criminal Justice, which houses the Chief State’s Attorney’s office).

On Oct. 1, CT will *start* opening prosecutors’ appointments to transparency & public input. As the state is about to look for a new Chief State's Attorney, who has the power to change the culture for all prosecutors, this chance for public input couldn't come at a better time.
