It's a slap in the face to people like our client Shawn Dowdell, who had to fight through the FOI process for basic information from the Connecticut State Police about what happened to his son Zoe, who was killed by New Britain Police.
And it's a slap in the face to people across the state who are right now demanding transparency from their local police departments.
While the Connecticut State Police claimed to support transparency by releasing video footage of Hamden & Yale police shooting Stephanie Washington & shooting at Paul Witherspoon, this proposal tells a very different story about the agency’s true priorities.
Outrageous. And offensive that any negotiator or legislator purportedly working for the public would endorse this.
Because CT Legislators don't work for the public, they work for the Unions.
