The Council wouldn't be your grandpa's taskforce: it's the 1st (that we know of) mandated by CT law to include justice-impacted people & organizations; would study ALL collateral consequences of incarceration; and hold at least 3 forums in communities, not just at the Capitol.

Smart Justice will keep fighting to end discrimination against people based on their record of arrest or conviction, and we're energized to support the creation of the Council on the Collateral Consequences of a Criminal Record.
