Last night, @bptpolice arrested peaceful protesters with @Justice4JaysonN and arrested a reporter. This is not the first time Bridgeport police have arrested peaceful protesters who were calling for an end to police violence. BPD needs to stop arresting them and start listening.
Since 2017, @bptpolice employees have:
1) shot & killed 15-year-old Jayson Negron
2) arrested & threatened peaceful protesters
3) hit & arrested a car accident victim
AND ...
4) were called out for underreporting mandatory traffic stop data to the state 5) turned their back while their supervisees beat a handcuffed person (this supervisor was promoted & allowed to retire with a golden parachute)
6) initiated deadly police chases 7) used excessive force & lied (with 17+ employees cited in that report) 8) tased a 15-year-old boy (when his mom, a city councilor, filed an excessive force complaint and spoke out, the city attorney sent her a letter of veiled threats)
