A lot of them already are. Bill Gates has given billions and saved millions of lives.

Those crises can't be solved by throwing money at the problem, it'd end up funding more fighting and never reach the people that need it. Just like every other time we've tried. At least the cathedral repair will probably lead to positive results.
-
And the Flint water crisis? You can't get much more black and white than "spend money to get clean water to a town where the water is literally not safe to drink anymore"
-
Flint was just given 77 million more dollars just in the last few days!

Or how much we could ALL fix world issues if we ALL REALLY cared. You realize all the broke mf in the country are giving money to a non existent wall and getting ourselves out of debt without knowing? We love the uneducated right?
-
I'm deep in debt and living paycheck to paycheck. If I lose momentum for too long I'm homeless. I can't really afford to help anyone else right now. As much as I'd love to.
-
That’s the thing you don’t HAVE to. Have you donated money?? The donators donate money. You’re choosing to be like that. I never said EVERYONE had to. But yeah sorry you’re living like that.
-
Yeah I'm CHOOSING to live this way. Yeah I just love it you know it's the best, not knowing if your groceries will last until next paycheck or not.
-
you can get mad at me over it or get a better job and make your groceries last longer. Your choice. Again. -
Just because someone can’t afford enough food doesn’t mean they aren’t working? I worked while paying full rent for two people on my own and couldn’t afford to eat. While fucking pregnant. It’s hard. Don’t act as if you know
-
I don’t. I just know my life. I set my life up. I made my money. And I spend my money. I Choose how to spend my money. And I choose who I live with, what I do, and where I go. This tweet wasn’t a “you’ve made wrong decisions” it was actually about the rich donating money. Soo...

Ok I misunderstood but I’m tired of seeing tweets attacking poor instead of following the actual point

It’s their money and they expend it the way they want it. They don’t have any type of moral responsibility with the rest of the world, yes they could spend it helping others but again they don’t actually have to, it’s all up to them.
-
And I completely agree with that. It’s just sad to see.
-
Sadly it's true that they have no moral duty to help anyone, but they should want to do it, as there's only so many yachts, houses and diamonds a person can buy. And what would be more fulfilling than seeing someone helped into a better life
-
It takes more than one person to make a lasting impact on society’s way of living. If anything these people have probably learned that the problems are a lot simpler than fighting it with money. Temporary solutions can be bought, but long term solutions require work from everyone
-
Long term solutions also require a lot of money.
-
Yes, and the billionaires have it. They just need to decide to get together and plan the best way to spend it. Building accommodation for the homeless would be a good start
-
They have no idea what to do with it correctly
