Just because you don't feel attached to a culture does not mean it doesn't exist. Regardless of how much you desire a post racial society it will never happen because the only way to achieve it is on the other side of recognizing the present culture for what it is.

Only after acknowledging how and why people associate with each other can you get to a point of acceptance, that acceptances of each other's cultures and subcultures bring us closer to a post racial society as it allows us to see each other as individuals based on association.

Actually, I'm taking what exists as a culture whether you like or want to be a part of it or not and simply saying that association voluntarily with one doesn't mean you cannot associate with others as well or that you are any less an American or individual. I rely on nothing.

Here let me help you out with your assumptions. I live in New Hampshire, it's 90% white. A drastic cultural difference from predominantly black communities in Mass, Atlanta, Detroit etc. Anyone can voluntarily engage Ina a culture they find appealing and that's a good thing.
