Yeah again God didn't tell him to cut them up!! God only said "take them"! He just did!

Wait so what do these animals do. Do they create sacred space or are they korbanot. If theyre korbanot then surely he should eat or burn them not just leave them there?

I'm glad Avraham felt bad for us in 15:12. I was always worried about how he seemed really sanguine about sending all his descendants into slavery Rashi says his bad feeling is galut haha

Hey!!! Avraham's deep sleep in v12 is the same word, tirdeima, as Adam's deep sleep in 2:21

v17 so these two fire-images pass between the pieces. Unclear where Avraham is situated in this drama. (hey.... kriat yam suf)

Avraham passes through fire (in the idol-smashing midrash, Nimrod throws him in the oven!). But Am Yisrael goes through the mikveh of Yam Suf.pic.twitter.com/vCfY5CsxSj

Mmm, this is really nice except we don't know that Avraham does pass through the fire? Like that only happens in midrash

True, but isn’t it weird that the parsha talks about his circumcision but not any sort of mikveh? He is עברי but seemingly has no yam suf moment?

Oh and please say something about how Sarah’s name change differs in construction from Avraham’s.
