It turns out the trail was uphill and full of rocks and also...fallen logs. It was a very difficult and tiring route. But I did it! And on the weekend I am not doing that 17 mile route that includes another really big hill. I'll do two nice 10 mile rides instead.

So, I did my Conqueror Challenge bike ride today. Virtually, I'm almost at the town of Werbach cycling the Romantic Road. In real life? I decided to do a nice 11 mile ride. And I picked a new route. One that was less paved. I thought it would be nice mellow trail. Nope!

My ride today was an evening ride…because I was late getting the ride in…but I got the ride in! I’m virtually in Baden-Würtenberg and also? I’m 10% done. I think by the end of the weekend I’ll pass 20% and 10 plastic bottles will be kept from reaching the ocean. Woot!

So, I only had 4 miles left on my Hadrian’s Wall journey, so I decided to also start my next virtual race. I wanted something challenging, beautiful, and something I could finish before the snows come. And so? The Romantic Road! 268 miles through my old home of Southern Germany.

Today I did a 17.5 mile bike ride. I had done this ride once before, but the “wrong” direction. So I remembered it being pretty and pleasant. I forgot the massive hill…because I was descending it last time. This time? Uphill. Oof! But I finished Hadrian’s Wall!
