Until I can turn in photos like Juergen and get hired again we haven’t achieved true equality.

This is a cool simulation and visualization. But, note the situation in a classroom with no open windows and poor ventilation (which is characteristic of many, many classrooms). You want to work in that classroom for 6 hours, 5 days per week?

The right has officially made "cancel culture" a synonym for when anyone tries to push back in any way on anything a conservative says. This is the most predictable outcome in the world & all the Very Serious Center Leftists who nurtured this concept share the blame.

The real “cancel culture” - a state university fires a professor for her public comments...about their efforts to punish her for political tweets

If we really want to know which kids are struggling right now, we might consider asking the professionals who spend 180 days a year with them. My guess is that they know more than any Scantron form ever will. Or perhaps testing is really about something other than helping kids?

This is my classroom today from where I will be teaching. (Please note none of this is “virtual” teaching, it is very much a real space, with real learning.)

And for the record. I’m not complaining. I like teaching best pet of my job. Just don’t like this framing.

In many ways the work will actually be harder, requiring more effort. Nothing “virtual” about it.

And my students won’t be virtually learning either. They will be real learning.

Again this isn’t virtual work. The work I do tomorrow will very much be real. It will be conducted from home not campus.

Another retrospective paper that will get eventually written: "The deadly cost of closing parks and scolding beach-goers long after it became clear that it was not only among the safest activities people could do, it displaced riskier indoor socializing."
