Despite all the talk of reclaiming the N-Word, Black people never actually did so in my opinion.

When marginalized populations reclaim slurs, they tend to reclaim the actual literal word. Same spelling and everything. We didn't do that

The original word was not chosen, it was given. The derivation is an acknowledgment of a ceaseless reality that she can't understand. /2

All it takes is to speak up when you hear a white friend saying either word. Never underestimate that power.

but it does not "suck to be black:" it sucks to be called hateful names by ignorant people in a country which still practices oppression
