COVID19 fundamentally changed how we think about the dominant mode of respiratory viral transmission Now we need to fundamentally change what we do to protect the general public with better respiratory protection Our public health institutions have lagged on both fronts

So May 1st, 2009 the @US_FDA gave EUA for the general public on many of the N95's that we all still wear today including 3M Aura series and Cup 8210. Yet now @CDCgov says we can't do the same thing. Just change H1N1 to COVID19 and update the date. 🤡🤡 pic.twitter.com/Afg3y4YAkG

Because China can simply stop the reporting. They don’t have to stop the actual virus. Hello?

It’s a huge opportunity. Making indoor air like clean outdoor air won’t just reduce covid transmission, it will reduce hundreds of other pollutants and illnesses for an indoor species.https://twitter.com/jeremychrysler/status/1434923227298598912 …

Why admitting Covid is Airborne is hard. A 🧵 and 6k word piece on the curious history of airborne transmission. Evidence that Covid spreads through the air is strong but airborne protections are lacking. Not just public health institutions, clinical health institutions are lagging behind as well. Health institutions need to come together on the basic principles of transmission and prevention of this airborne infectious disease.

weirdly I always thought respiratory viruses were airborne - you know, respiratory - like breath air in and out.

turns out you were right and medicine got tricked into thinking a lot of respiratory pathogens can only travel 6 feet before magically falling to the ground
