Kaiser Permanente is discontinuing routine chloroquine prescriptions for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and malaria patients to deal with a shortage driven by #covid19, and thanking them for their "sacrifice" https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/tanyachen/kaiser-permanente-lupus-chloroquine … via @tanyachen and @dvergano

This is ghoulish and it is shocking you think this is making you look better
-
No it isn't. It is not the fault of KP docs that a pandemic happened and that this drug is a last resort for folks that would otherwise die. All they can do is get it to those who need it most - acute lupus pts and coronavirus patients in the ICU.

Do you hate your PR team?

I've been a Kaiser member for years. I am so disappointed.

Admit it
@aboutKP - it is all about the money. Jack up the price and make more money off a crisis, and leave lupus and RA patients without. Disgusting. -
You know nothing about the KP system. KP docs make drug decisions, not administrators. KP is non profit and does not profit from drug sales. There is not enough of this drug to go around so docs must make hard choices about who needs it most.

I'm sure those patients are just lining up to thank you. Oh wait, they can't.
