Look at those beautiful colors! Of course, now the trick is preserving them, since pigments are delicate once exposed to the air and elements. This is amazing - thank you for posting.

So ... is this a Christian orant gesture? I know it's Roman era, but unsure if the gesture is Christian or 'pagan' (I hate that word). It's used in the earlier Roman era, as seen in several statues, frescoes and mosaics, so I don't want to assume.
