2. Programmers with higher efficacy read code in a more efficient manner. They quickly move and focus on the most relevant parts of the code, whereas programmers with lower efficacy spend more time studying the entirety of the code.

Researchers at Saarland University studied the relationship between programming experience and efficacy. Here’s what they found: 1. Years of experience does not correlate with programmer efficacy, but self-estimation and indicators of learning eagerness do.

"DORA metrics are often used as 'vanity radiators' instead of information we can use to help us improve." – This was roughly my experience at GitHub. Spent months building these metrics. Didn't help us identify where to improve.

A friend’s org (at bigco) has decided to track these metrics to track IC productivity: - number of jira tickets closed - number of changes pushed - number of comments on code review I predict a round of promotions for some very simple python scripts
