Yeah. They’re not Nazis, they’re kids trying to be edgy and transgressive. The adults around them are obsessed with WWII and see Nazis behind every tree. This is how the kids rebel, like wearing Che T-shirts in the 80s when the adults loved conservatism and capitalism
