    Totally agree, and would even add that Trump might not be incompetent at all. As president, he knows he could order troops home at anytime. He's a great con artist and smart people keep getting conned to excuse his inaction.

    The Orange Man Good crowd always wants everyone to treat Donald Trump like a small child who must be coddled. The military-industrial complex can be horrendous *and* Trump can be horrible at fighting it due to his own deficiencies. We shouldn’t applaud or excuse his incompetence.

    It’s outrageous and potentially criminal, but don’t absolve the commander in chief. It’s an open secret that a substantial number of troops remained in Syria and were being shuffled around. Trump himself bragged about protecting oil fields. They took advantage of his personality.

    Before he became president, Trump never opposed a US war. As president, he hadn't ended any US war (and escalated a few.) He's not going to pull out of Afghanistan (or Syria) in the next two months. Stop with this shit.

    ., you know I respect your work and agree with your sentiments, but your tweet here is misleading. The effort to limit withdrawal from Afghanistan was in the House NDAA, which did not become law. There is nothing in law restricting Donald Trump from withdrawing troops.

    For those asking why Trump didn't withdraw troops from Afghanistan before now: try reading the news. In July, pro-war Dems on the House Armed Services Committee joined with Liz Cheney & friends to bar any monies used for withdrawal:
