Here in Oregon we’ve been voting by mail for decades. You don’t have to mail your ballot either. There are designated secure drop boxes just for ballots in several places around town. You can track your ballot online to make sure it was received.

After reading that article, I can understand the need to vote in person for some. It might work better if vote by mail was already in place in other states so the social aspects of voting mentioned in the article have time to adapt.
