Crunch was weeks on the road, away from home, family. For every "wow I'm at Abbey Road!" there was a "wow 100+ hour work week at Gamescom".
Community / PR / events / marketing may not crunch in the traditional definition, but they definitely crunch. That shouldn't be ignored.
