How... how would Medicaid lifetime limits work. "Yes, we know you're so sick and debilitated that you hit the limit. Go out and get a job."https://twitter.com/ddiamond/status/971765473833611264 …

I try so hard not to be the angry, reactionary, scorch-the-earth blogger that I used to let out every once in a while. But things like "Medicaid lifetime limits" make it really difficult.

I mean, Medicaid doesn't give you cash. Or cake. It's not "fun". It doesn't send you on vacation, or keep the lights on, or get you free cable TV. It pays the medical bills when you're sick.

People who might hit an arbitrary limit are really sick. Really, really sick. That's why they have so many medical bills. Do you think if you take away their medicine that... incentivizes them to get better?

Seriously, walk me through this. Show me someone who hit the "limit" - an actual person - and explain to me how cutting off their medical insurance will make them better.

No theories here. No apocryphal examples. Find me a real human being who has spent your "limit" on medical care and show us how this policy will work.

I promise you this - no one who has ever spent the "limit" on insurance feels like they "beat the system". They're just trying to stay alive.

Nop... There is no incentives for people on medicaid. But we will have more money to give rich people more tax cut.....

Aaron, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Republicans in Arizona and Wisconsin were talking about a duration limit on Medicaid benefits (5 years is being proposed in Arizona), not a dollar limit. Who knows, maybe some state is proposing both types of limits.

Same thing applies. Just bc their benefits are gone doesn't mean they will get well.
