There are so many cool cloud products that can be used, like Zapier, among other startup companies, that can help automate simple manual processes. Accountants are so risk averse that they won’t try out any technology and it’s so painful to watch.

The accounting world moves so slow. I teach accountants how to automate for a living and it’s hard to get accountants to use software they should’ve been using 4 years ago (Alteryx).

The customers we had in mind might not need this data after all. I still have a scraper that can detect new businesses added to yelp based on keywords that might be valuable though

What the low code solution for data pipelines and ETL that isn’t crazy expensive? I want to: 1. Scrape data and send it to a database or airtable. 2. Post-process data and update additional tables. 2 is where things get difficult when you don’t want to use Dbt / airflow

Adding more buildings and cities would be way too much. I want to focus on the user experience and online content but I think I have to rethink how I scrape and how the data is stored so I can build a better product on top of the data. Frustrating but seems necessary.
