    Leelanau County, where I was born and raised, literally takes its name from the Objibwe language. On top of that, the Ottowa-Chippewa tribe played, and continues to play, a huge cultural role in our northern Midwest culture.

    Derek Chauvin has been found guilty on all three charges in the murder of George Floyd, including 2nd and 3rd degree murder, and 2nd degree manslaughter. The crowd outside the Hennepin Co. Courthouse erupts in cheers.

    Wow. Court says jury has reached verdict in the Derek Chauvin's murder trial. Coming at 4:30 Eastern. Rule of thumb is that typically a fast ruling = a guilty verdict.
