"Convictions rates are low! So what?" Doubt very much that rape/ DV victims can be so breezy about their traumatic experiences as you. Low conviction rates mean that rapists are getting away with raping, & then being free to rape and attack again, as in John Worboys case #endVAWG

Conviction rates are important to display our justice system, more over, acquittals are important to exonerate the innocent. Sexual crimes are not strict liability, we have a lot in place to support complainants. Such as the CJPOA provisions and the need for s41 applications

The system is by no means perfect, it’s hugely underfunded and understaffed, but look at disclosure failings and constant article 6 issues. Defendant’s rights cannot be watered down for the sake of convictions
