without the state, all economic activity would be defined as black market activity without the ego, all activity would be defined as meaningless activity both the state & the ego justify their existence as the source of legitimacy and meaning but all they really do is label

an example w the state is the war on drugs or terrorism. by labelling certain activities as bad rather than trying to understand them, they ironically perpetuate the conflict and even create cartels/terrorist despite all the money spent

the world will always have something “bad” in it when viewed from a singular perspective. the trick is to recognize that this view is biased rather than try for a “nothing is bad” view that requires constant fakery even though it is true

likewise, a singular pov will always be able to look “up” towards greater, prettier, smarter, richer… the trick is not to try and literally become one with the heavens to avoid this feeling of being looked down on but to recognize that being life and hell are both Under Heaven
